Connections

International collaboration has always been a cornerstone of British animation.  Artists such as Lotte Reiniger, John Halas and Ray Harryhausen have made their mark on animation created in the UK, and directors such as Wes Anderson and Tim Burton have harnessed British talents. This Anim18 Strand is dedicated to tracing British stories in international animation, and the collaborative nature of an increasingly globalised industry.  We’ll be supporting animators in internationalising their skills (in partnership with the British Council) and prompting debates on the future of animation worldwide.
